Hi, I'm May Houthuijse — the founder and creative mind behind Studio MĀ.
With a background in branding, web design and communication, I've had the privilege of working with both emerging founders and established businesses to create brands that are thoughtful, timeless and built with intention. What inspires me most is helping people translate their ideas into a visual identity that truly reflects who they are.
Over the years, I've learned that successful brands are never built on beautiful design alone. They begin with clarity, purpose and a deep understanding of the people behind the business. That's why every project starts with listening—before moving into strategy, design and creative direction.
My approach is calm, collaborative and detail-oriented. I believe the best ideas emerge when creativity is paired with thoughtful strategy, and when every decision is guided by intention rather than trends.
Beyond Studio MĀ, I'm also the founder of AYAMA — a space dedicated to nervous system regulation, coaching and holistic wellbeing. Building both businesses has shaped the way I work today: with empathy, curiosity and a genuine appreciation for meaningful, human-centred brands.
